He started the move that ended with Kevin De Bruyne’s cross reaching Phil Foden who controlled it before turning and opening the scoring from 7 yards out after 27 minutes of resistance from the Tractor Boys.
Doku then pulled the ball back to Foden who squared it to Mateo Kovacic to double City’s advantage just 3 minutes later.
Foden scored his second after 42 minutes after De Bruyne won the ball in midfield, Doku was allowed once again to go up the left flank before there was a repeat of the first goal with the Doku picking out De Bruyne whose cutback was tucked in by Foden from close range despite Walton getting a hand to it.
The second saw Doku go it alone after cutting in the from left – his shot took a wicked deflection off Dara O’Shea after 49 minutes.
Haaland had already forced a great save from Walton earlier in the game but Doku set him up for City’s fifth which he gratefully converted in the 57th minute.
And James McAtee notched up his first Premier League goal for City with a well placed header after Kovacic picked him out with a ball from deep in midfield to bring the six up for a City side who were already taking it easy after 69 minutes having notched up the biggest win of the season.
By this time – the in-form De Bruyne and Foden were already on the bench getting a rest along with Haaland as City looked ahead to the mid week trip to the continent to play Paris Saint Germain having returned to fourth place in the Premier League.
