Defender Kerstin Casparij has signed a new two-year contract extension to keep her at Manchester City until 2027.
The Dutch international right back, 24, originally signed for the club in the summer of 2022 and has made 66 appearances in all competitions for the club – registering eight assists and scoring once – against St Polten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last week.
Her original contract had been due to expire at the end of the season.
Speaking about her contract extension, Kerstin said: “It feels amazing.
“It was pretty much a no-brainer and as soon as Charlotte and Gareth let me know they wanted to extend my contract I was pretty much up for it straight away.
“I think we’re doing really good things.
“We have some big goals with the Club, as a team and individually for me and trying to take it step by step.
“We want to win something [this season].
We want to give our fans something to celebrate and ourselves something to celebrate.”
Manchester City Women Managing Director Charlotte O’Neill continued: “As well as her undoubted talent on the pitch, Kerstin has brought her infectious personality, drive and determination to Man City.
“She is one of the hardest working players in the squad and we believe has the potential to take her place amongst the best fullbacks in the game.”
“We’re thrilled Kerstin has chosen to continue her footballing journey with us, as we continue to compete for all honours.”
Head Coach Gareth Taylor added: “We’re really happy that Kerstin has decided to extend her time with us.
“Kerstin is a player that we felt could help the team and improve in many areas – which we feel she has – which is why we’re delighted to continue the journey together!”
