Former professional footballer Jamie Menagh, whose former clubs included Greater Manchester sides Stockport County, Altrincham and Hyde United, has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years for his part in a £250 million plot to smuggle Class A drugs into the country from South America.
Menagh, (31), of Waterloo Quay, Liverpool, helped to distribute drugs to other couriers, Mold Crown Court was told.

After representing Liverpool schoolboys, Menagh signed his first professional contract at Blackpool.
He also later played for semi-pro clubs Prescot Cables, Chester FC, Airbus UK, Marine, Nantwich Town and most recently Lower Breck in the North West Counties League.
