CURZON ASHTON 1, HEREFORD FC 0
A last-gasp goal from captain Jimmy Spencer earned Curzon Ashton a massive home win against Hereford FC as they moved back into the play-off spots in National League North.
Spencer struck in the 93rd minute as The Nash snatched the points in what is turning out to be an epic battle for a top-seven finish.
There are only two points separating sixth and 11th places with Hereford losing ground as they slipped from eighth to 11th place.
Neither side managed to grab the game by the scruff off the neck with the start of the game being particularly scrappy.
The best chance of the first half fell to Stefan Mols. The Spaniard broke past the Hereford backline, but instead of squaring the ball to Spencer he elected to shoot and fired wide.
Both managers would be happy with the way their side started. Hereford came out of the traps faster, forcing stand-in goalkeeper Josh Ollerenshaw, replacing the injured Cameron Mason, into two great saves.
The visitors failed to capitalise on their pressure, and Curzon grew into the game.
Isaac Sinclair, in particular, dominated the game in midfield. His best moment came as he drove through the midfield and found Spencer who forced a top save out of Curtis Pond.
The game looked destined for a draw until a late cross found Spencer who directed his header expertly past Pond to seal all three points.
