Defender Tara O’Hanlon has signed her first professional contract with Manchester City.
The Irish international, 18, signed from Peamount United and will stay at the Joie Stadium until the summer of 2027 and will wear the number 26 shirt.
She had previously played for Bohemians during the U2020 U17 Women’s National League before moving to Peamount United U17s in 2021.
She broke through into the Peamount senior team in 2022, making a total of 27 league and cup appearances, scoring 4 goals.
Dublin-born O’Hanlon made her senior debut in 2023 – an April friendly against the USA.
Speaking about the move, O’Hanlon said: “City’s playing style was a big consideration when choosing which Club to go to.
“I really liked the team’s style of play and I think this is the best place for me to learn as much as I can and develop as a player.
“I’m buzzing to get started and I can’t wait to see everyone in the Joie Stadium.”
Head coach Gareth Taylor added: “Tara is a talented young player.
“Tara is clearly someone who is hungry to learn and continuously improve, and she will undoubtedly have the opportunity to develop at City with the team she will have around her.”
