Midfielder Laura Blinkilde Brown has signed for Manchester City.
Blinkilde Brown, who signed from Aston Villa, has agreed a deal to stay at the Joie Stadium until the summer of 2027.
The 20-year-old will wear the number 19 shirt and comes with a reputation as one of the WSL’s most exciting new talents.
Since signing for Villa in September 2021, Blinkilde Brown has made over 50 appearances for area Ward’s side and was named the Villan’s Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons.
And she has also represented England at various youth levels, recently turning out for the Lionesses’ Under-19s alongside new City teammates Khiara Keating and Ruby Mace.
Speaking about the move, Blindkilde Brown said: “I’m really excited to be here. It’s a big step in my career but I’m really excited to see what comes.
“It’s a new challenge for me.
“Obviously, I’ve been at Villa a lot of my career but it’s something new and I’ll be training with some of the best players in the world.
“I think the style of play here is really suited to me. Hopefully it just develops me even more in my career.”
Head Coach Gareth Taylor added: “Laura is an emerging talent.
“She is someone we have been monitoring for some time and have always been impressed whenever we’ve watched her play.
“I am looking forward to seeing her continue to flourish.”
