CURZON ASHTON 0, WARRINGTON TOWN 3
Curzon Ashton slipped out of the Vanarama National League North play-off places following a heavy home defeat by Warrington Town.
And it left The Nash eighth with Town 10th and breathing down their necks in the hunt for a top-seven finish.
The match started in a laborious fashion with neither side managing to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
The visitors, who had former Liverpool player Andre Wisdom in their side, took the lead after 35 minutes through winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts.
Town were coasting heading towards the interval, and they made their lead even more comfortable on the stroke of half-time. Connor Woods broke down the Curzon left and blasted the ball past a despairing Cam Mason in goal.
It was much of the same as the second half got underway. Warrington showed more bite and desire.
The Nash showed very little going forward with George Waring having the best chance for the hosts. Will Hayhurst’s floated corner found an unmarked Waring, but his header was tame and easy for keeper Daniel Atherton to keep out.
Buckley-Ricketts made sure of the points, rolling in a third goal in injury time for the visitors.
Throughout the contest, Curzon failed to muster any attacks of any kind of value, and this continued right until the final whistle.
The result leaves The Nash just outside the play-off places, and Warrington climbed into the top 10.
