Perhaps one of the worst kept secrets, but Salford City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante has joined Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
A release clause in his contract was activated by the Baggies, who have paid an undisclosed fee for the 23-year-old.
In 126 appearances since joining the EDS in 2019, Thomas-Asante scored 30 goals and assisted 16. He finished as top scorer with a personal best 13 goals last year, and started this season with five goals and two assists in seven appearances.
In March 2021, he was part of the team that won the Papa John’s Trophy, Salford’s first piece of EFL silverware.
