Demi Stokes has signed a two year contract extension with Manchester City to stay with the club until Summer 2023.
The left back, 29, recently celebrated her 150th appearance for City in all competitions after joining the club in January 2015 from South Florida Bulls.
She played her part in six trophies in as many years for City, lifting three women’s FA Cups, two Continental Tyres League Cups, and one WSL title.
The experienced campaigner has won 58 England caps since making her debut for the national teaming January 2014 against Norway.
She helped the Lionesses to the semi finals of the Women’s World Cup in 2019 and helped secure the She Believes title in the same year.
Speaking about her extension, Stokes said: “I’m so pleased to have signed a new deal.
“I don’t take any contract renewal for granted, but especially right now, I’m very grateful and fortunate to have the opportunity to continue my journey here with this amazing team.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of Manchester City and in my mind, I didn’t want to be anywhere but here – this Club is home for me, and it was an easy decision to extend my stay.”
Head Coach Gareth Taylor said: “We’re delighted to see Demi commit her immediate future to Manchester City as she’s been a big part of the Club’s successes over the past six years.
“She is a very important member of the team and we’re looking forward to continuing our journey together over the next few seasons.”
Managing Director of Manchester City Women, Gavin Makel, added: “Demi has been at the Club for a number of years now and has been integral to the successes we have had to date.
“I am delighted that she has committed her future to Manchester City as the qualities that she brings to the team are there to be seen by all.
“We constantly talk about having good people at the Club and Demi is certainly one of those – humble, talented and determined with an infectious personality, as well as being a fantastic role model to everyone.”
