David Silva will be coming back to Manchester after his Real Sociedad side were drawn against Manchester United in the Round of 32 of the Europa League.
Embed from Getty ImagesSilva, who left Manchester City in the summer to join the La Liga side, has propelled his new club to the top of the Spanish top division.
City boss Pep Guardiola’s former number 2, Mikel Arteta, saw his Arsenal side drawn against Portuguese giants Benfica in the Europa League while ex-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will probably be happy to see his Tottenham side drawn to face Austrian side Wolfsberger.
Silva’s former club, Manchester City, were drawn against Borussia Monchengladbach in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Germans are in the last 16 of the Premier European Cup competition for the first time since 1978 and last faced Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2016/17 season’s group stage of the competition.
The first leg will be played at Borussia-Park on Wednesday February 24 with the return leg at the Etihad Stadium scheduled for Tuesday March 18.
Both matches will kick off at 8pm UK time.
