Home grown Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo joined Fulham on a permanent deal in what turned out to be a quiet transfer window.

After stories about Lionel Messi and Kalidou Koulibaly had calmed down City signed Ruben Dias instead last week and there was talk of City moving for left back Argentine Nicolas Tagliafico, 28, from Ajax.
The move would have hinged on City moving on one of their existing left backs – but Oleksandr Zinchenko again opted to say at the club to prove himself despite having a number of offers to leave.
City had also been rumoured to be looking into purchasing a forward who could cover all three forward roles with Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero injured.
Raheem Sterling withdrew from the England squad earlier to protect a hamstring tweak but there was good news for City with the return to full training of a number of players including Aguero – who is entering the final year of his City deal – and Ilkay Gundogan.
One player who did move on was Tosin Adarabioyo.
Adarabioyo, 23, moved to Fulham on a permanent deal after City allowed the home grown defender to leave the club.
Adarabioyo had been on loan at Blackburn Rovers and was entering the last year of his City deal and had indicated that he wanted to leave the club after seeing City’s recent defensie transfer dealings push him further down the pecking order.
The home grown youngster would have been behind another home grown product in Eric Garcia who is also in entering the final year of his City contract and had also indicated his desire to leave.
Barcelona were negotiating hard for their former youth product but could not agree a deal with City – the cash-strapped Spanish giants also allowed a deal for Marseille forward Memphis Depay to fall through.
Garcia will now see out the final year of his contract with City unless Barcelona come back for him in January where the fee will be much lower.
To fill gaps in the City squad due to injury and illness a number of City youngsters have been promoted to first team training – including Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle, Cole Palmer, and Liam Delap, and have made appearances with the first team this term.
