Manchester City striker Jess Park has signed her first professional contract with the club – a three year deal.
Park, 18, signed from York City in October 2017, will be staying with the Blues until 2023 and hit her first senior hat trick in a 10-0 win over Ipswich Town Women in the Women’s FA Cup earlier this year.
Persistence has paid off for the young forward and Park was proud to have earned her first match ball following that game.
“I didn’t expect it to happen but after the first goal I kept pushing.” said Park of her memorable day against the Tractor Girls.
She also scored Continental Cup goals in wins over Sheffield United and Aston Villa as City lifted the trophy for the third time last term.
She told mancity.com of her delight at signing her contract, saying:
“I’m over the moon to have my contract sorted.
“I’ve absolutely loved every minute since joining City, with all the incredible resources we have, has helped me to develop massively.
“It’s always hard to move away from home but I can’t wait to continue my growth as a player with this brilliant club.
“Being in the same team with players that are at the top of their game is absolutely invaluable for a young player like myself and I’m excited for what the next few years hold here at Manchester City.”
Park’s fellow striker, Pauline Bremer, will be leaving the club to join German champions Wolfsburg when her contract expires this summer.
Bremer, 23, had previously played in her homeland for Turbine Potsdam, but had suffered with injuries early in her City career after arriving from Olympique Lyon.
She had found a streak of form with the club this season after a return to full fitness with 12 WSL goals in 15 games.
