STOCKPORT TOWN 2, MOSSLEY 3
Two goals from trialist Adam Morgan, the former Liverpool first-team player, lit up Mossley’s pre-season friendly win at Stockport Town.
Morgan, who played three times for Liverpool in the Europa League, showed the class which once made the 25-year-old one of the hottest young prospects in the game.
He opened the scoring for the Lilywhites after half an hour with a terrific low shot that arrowed into the bottom corner of the net.
Town, two divisions lower in the football pyramid, overturned the deficit with goals from Jez Uchegabulam and Andy Toner.
Ironically Uchegabulam is a Mossley youngster loaned to Town to get match practice.
Toner sliced a clearance into his own net to make it 2-2 before Morgan had the final word with 20 minutes left.
A cross from the right was volleyed home by Morgan from the edge of the box, a truly exceptional finish.
