Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has signed a new three-year-deal and will be loaned to Premier League rivals Sheffield United for the forthcoming season.
The deal will keep the England U-21 custodian at the club until 2022 with an option to extend for a further year.
Embed from Getty ImagesHenderson, 22, is a product of United’s Academy and has been at the club since the age of 14.
He spent last season on loan with the Blades and helped them earn promotion to the Premier League while winning their Young Player of the Year award and the Sky Bet Championship Golden Glove for keeping the most clean sheets.
Henderson was delighted to sign again, and said:
“The Club has been amazing in designing an individual pathway to aid my development which will enable me to reach my potential and perform at the highest level possible.
“Signing this contract is such a proud moment for myself and my family.
“I’ve worked so hard to reach this point and I want to do everything I can to repay the faith the club has shown in me.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added:
