Ander Herrera has confirmed that he will leave Manchester United at the end of the season when his contract expires after a 5 year spell at the club.
In an emotional highlights laden video, Herrera said:
“There is red in my heart.
“I knew it from the first time I played here.
“A club with thousands of fans who remember all the players that respect and remember all the players who give everything.
“I felt proud when the fans decided I was part of this incredible history.
“I will remember each of the almost 200 matches I played in this jersey.
“Thanks for these five amazing years.”

Herrera joined the club under former manager Louis van Gaal from Athletic Bilbao in 2014 and is believed to have agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain.
United missed out on Champions League football following a 1-1 draw at relegated Huddersfield Town last week and Herrera may have made his final appearance for the Reds, coming off the bench in the second half to replace Nemanja Matic.
The Reds are believed to have offered a counter deal to keep Herrera at Old Trafford but could not agree over terms.
It’s not known if Herrera, who could be joined in leaving the club by Juan Mata who is also out of contract this summer, will play on Sunday.
Mata responded by saying: “I will miss you too. What a player, what a guy.
“Good luck, you deserve the very best.”
United are believed to be including youngsters in the match day squad for their final home game of the season against Cardiff City.
Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, and James Garner could all feature for the Reds against manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former club who were also his first opponents as United boss in their 5-1 win at Cardiff on December 22, 2018.
Mike Phelan was also confirmed as Solskjaer’s assistant manager yesterday, but the Reds remain in the hunt for a director of football as their long awaited squad overhaul gets underway.
