Manchester City will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on the weekend of August 11-12 in the first round of fixtures for the forthcoming Premier League season after they were announced today.
The Champions will return to London after their Community Shield game against FA Cup winners Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, August 5 which is set for a 3pm Kick Off.
It will be tough welcome to the Premier League for new Arsenal manager Unai Emery after previous manager Arsene Wenger bid farewell to the club he managed for 22 years with a farewell game at Huddersfield at the end of last season.
Emery follows the game against City with an equally tough trip to Chelsea in the second Premier League weekend.
Manchester United will host Leicester City for their opening Premier League fixture while Huddersfield Town will welcome Chelsea to the John Smith’s Stadium with Spurs visiting Newcastle United in the first of three away games in their first four fixtures.
Tottenham will play Fulham at Wembley on the second weekend of the season and will finally return to their rebuilt White Hart Lane Stadium on the weekend of September 15-16 when their first opponents in their new home will be Liverpool.
After welcoming Chelsea to Huddersfield, the Terriers will travel across the Pennines on the second weekend of the season to face Manchester City while the Reds will travel down to Brighton on the second match day.
