Marouane Fellaini has signed a contract with Manchester United to stay until 2020 with an option for a further year.
The out of contract Belgian midfielder, who played yesterday in Belgium’s 1-0 defeat of England, with the goal scored by an ex-Manchester United alum Adnan Januzaj, joined the Reds in 2013 when signed from his former club Everton by then-United manager David Moyes.
Marouane Fellaini has signed a new #MUFC contract which runs until June 2020, with the option to extend for a further year.

He went on to make 156 appearances and scoring 20 goals, winning the FA Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Europa League, and the Community Shield during his time at United and will now have the chance to add to his goals, appearances and silverware tally for the Reds for the next two years.
The big Belgian often polarises opinions of fans at the club with his physical approach and was expected by many to leave Old Trafford once his old contract had expired this summer and there were certainly no shortage of admirers for the effective midfielder who has proved to be a trusted and loyal lieutenant for the current United manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was understandably pleased to have tied the midfielder down to a new deal and might not need a new central midfielder following the earlier arrival of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
“I am very happy Marouane is staying with us.” declared Mourinho, who added: “I always believed in his desire to stay with the club and I am delighted that he has signed a new contract.”
Fellaini said: “I am pleased to be continuing my journey as a Manchester United player. I made this decision because I am very happy here. Also, I feel like this team, under Jose, still has a lot we want to achieve.
“I would like to say a special thank you to Jose for the faith he has always shown in me. My focus now is on the World Cup and I am looking forward to a successful season ahead.”
