Manchester City fans will be able to celebrate their club’s double-winning season with a bus parade along Deansgate on Monday evening (May 14).
City added the Premier League trophy last month to their Carabao Cup win in February after and are aiming to end a record breaking season on Sunday at Southampton where a win will confirm a massive 100 points in a single league season.
Speaking ahead of the parade, City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, said: “The parade is a chance to bring the trophies to our supporters and show our appreciation to them.
“They have been as much a part of this journey as any player, coach or member of staff and we are delighted to make them a part of the celebrations.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming as many fans as possible to the streets of Manchester on what will be a special day for all of us. This is what we have all worked for and we can’t wait to enjoy it together.”
Thousands of fans are expected the line the streets of Manchester and the club have arranged for the main stage to be relocated to the corner of Deansgate and Peter Street to accommodate more supporters with the staged event to start from 5pm.
The bus parade will set off from Manchester Cathedral at 6pm, following a civic reception to honour the club’s record-breaking achievements this season.
Travelling down Deansgate, buses carrying players and staff will turn down John Dalton Street and Peter Street.
The players and staff will then address the assembled supporters from the main stage from 7pm as part of the final hour of the three hour event.
Guests will include a host of former players from Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee, Tony Book through to Paul Dickov, Shay Given, and Nicky Weaver.
