In recent weeks City have lost Toni Duggan to Barcelona and Kosovare Asllani to Linköpings FC and the signing of the German international striker, who is 21, will go some way to restoring the attacking balance to the squad.
Bremer won the Golden Boot in UEFA Women’s U19 Championships in 2013 with six goals. She also lifted the U20 World Cup, contributing five goals and six assists.
The former FFC Turbine Potsdam player was named in the senior Germany team as a substitute aged just 18 and scored a hat trick against Hungary in 2015 on her first start for the team.
Bremer was excited at the opportunity to play for City, the current holders of all three domestic trophies, saying:
“After seeing the facilities and resources available at Manchester City, the decision to join the club was a no brainer for me. I’ve never seen anything like this before and I can’t wait to get started.
“From the moment you walk through the door everyone makes you feel so welcome and the vision Manchester City have for the club and the women’s game as a whole is inspiring.
“To be at a club where everyone is so passionate and committed to helping women’s football reach the next level is such a privilege and I am so excited to be a part of it.”
Nick Cushing, Head Coach of Manchester City Women, added:
“Pauline is an incredibly talented player and the perfect fit for Manchester City.
“She has already delivered many exceptional performances, but we know she has even more to offer and are delighted to have her join the team.
“As we move into the next phase of our development, the team is evolving and Pauline will add a new dimension to our overall squad performance.
“Her creativity and determination is what we need to raise our game and I’m looking forward to working with her over the next few seasons.”
City had already brought in Danish defender Mie Jans to the squad but the loss of Bronze, 25, will be a big blow to City and her fans with whom she has been very popular in the three years since joining the side from Liverpool three years ago.

Bronze scored 11 goals in 59 appearances from right back including memorable strikes in the FA Cup and Continental Tyres Cup finals.
During her time at the Club, she represented England in the 2015 World Cup and 2017 Euros tournaments. She scored twice at the World Cup and was named in its All-Star Team.
