Aaron Mooy joins Manchester City
Manchester City’s second signing of the summer is 25-year-old midfielder Aaron Mooy.
The Australian international attacking midfielder, who scored 11 goals and made 21 assists in the last A-League season, is expected to be farmed out on loan after arriving from sister club Melbourne City.
Melbourne will welcome defensive midfielder Luke Brattan who arrived at City last October from Brisbane Roar and had a spell on loan at Bolton Wanderers without making a single appearance last season.
The Australian club will also extend their loan of Anthony Caceres, who arrived at City in January from Central Coast Mariners, until the end of the 2016/17 season.
City aiming to seal more deals
City have already bolstered their midfield with the signing of Ilkay Gundogan this summer.
New City boss Pep Guardiola is expected to welcome Spain winger Nolito after reportedly triggering his low release clause of £13.8m.
He will also try and seal a deal for promising Ukraine midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko after his country were eliminated from the European Championships.
The 19-year-old could sign as soon as next week but is expected to be loaned out to gain Champions League experience.
Dutch team PSV Eindhoven have been tipped to take the youngster on loan next season.
Zabaleta exit likely
Manchester City legend Pablo Zabaleta could be on his way to Italy with Roma keen to sign him despite rumours of a late bid from Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan.
Reports suggest the Argentine, who joined City from Espanol eight years ago for just £6.45m a day before the Abu Dhabi revolution, has agreed personal terms with the Italian club.
Zabaleta, 31, had a poor injury-hit season by his own standards last term, and may find Serie A to his liking at this stage of his career.
With all four senior City full backs the wrong side of 30 years old it seems the time may have come for some work on the squad.
