Manchester United manager David Moyes has accepted an FA charge for misconduct in relation to comments made after the 2-1 Capital One Cup Semi Final First Leg defeat at Sunderland on January 7.
The FA website said: “It is alleged the comments called into question the integrity of the match officials appointed to that fixture and/or appointed to Manchester United fixtures generally, and/or implied that such match officials are motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute, in contravention of Rule E3(1).”
Moyes had commented that United: “were playing referees as well as the opposition.”
He added that United were: “beginning to laugh at referees’ decisions.”
Moyes had earlier criticised match officials after the New Years Day defeat to Spurs at Old Trafford when Spurs ‘keeper Hugo Lloris appeared to foul Ashley Young outside his area.
Moyes said: “It was an incredible decision, one of the worst I have seen.”
