Robin Van Persie could be set to play for United against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League next week after manager David Moyes brought the Dutch striker off the bench in Manchester United’s 2-1 reverse against West Bromwich Albion today.
Van Persie had over half an hour of game time, perhaps more than Moyes was originally planning, after recovering from the groin injury that kept him out of United’s defeat at the Etihad last weekend.
“I hope he will be fit for the midweek game. Our plan was to give him some time today but perhaps not as much as he got today.” said Moyes.
