Pablo Zabaleta has signed a new four-year contract extension with Manchester City which will see him stay at the Etihad until 2017.
The Argentine full back joined City in 2008 after he was signed by former City manager Mark Hughes from Espanyol just before the club was purchased by Sheikh Mansour.
The club went on to win the FA Cup in 2011 and follow that with the Premier League title in 2012.
Zabaleta has gone on to become a firm fan favourite at the club and has made 175 first-team appearances.
He was delighted to sign the deal and hoped to win more silverware with the cub in the future.
He said: “I think we have got a great squad, fantastic players and hopefully we can win something this year.
“I am sure the fans will respond very well as always. They are a big support for the team week in week out, and hopefully at the end of the season the fans and players can celebrate with a trophy.”
