Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino gave Manchester United fresh hope in their pursuit of midfielder Cesc Fabregas by admitting that the Spain midfielder might have a role to play in his own future.
The Catalan giants have already rejected bids of £25m and £30m from United and it’s believed there will be a third bid which will smash the club record of £30.75m paid for Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.
Martino said: “I would prefer him to stay with us and I dare say he will, but it’s his decision.”
It’s believed that Fabregas might opt for a move back to the Premier League if United manager David Moyes could guarantee him more playing time in his preferred midfield role rather than the more advanced one he has been forced into playing at Barca.
