Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini has told Spanish television station Canal Sur that he has a ‘verbal agreement’ to join Manchester City.
He said: “I have a verbal agreement with them (City) and I hope it is carried out.”
He explained: “As of today, I don’t have a signed contract. It is true that Manchester City have shown a lot of interest that I become their coach and I have had conversations with them.
“Until things have been signed, you cannot say everything is completely done.”
The Chilean manager of Malaga recently announced that he would be leaving the Spanish side at the end of the season but while no official word about his future has been announced by City it is strongly believed that he will be replacing former manager Roberto Mancini who was sacked earlier this month.
