Joe Hart and Daniel Sturridge have both been withdrawn from England duty in Wednesday’s friendly game against Italy with injury.
Hart missed City’s Community Shield win over Chelsea with a back injury while former City team mate Sturridge sustained a toe injury during the game while playing for Chelsea.
Hart’s absence means squad ‘keepers Jack Butland or John Ruddy will be making their England debuts in Berne as England boss Roy Hodgson hasn’t called up any replacements.
