The BBC report that Emmanuel Adebayor has signed for Spurs after agreeing an undisclosed fee to sign the City striker.
It had been suggested that s special deal would have to be set up for Adebayor to fit into Tottenham’s pay structure but moving the Togo striker on could allow City manager Roberto Mancini to make a move for Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie who recently said that he would not be renewing his deal at the Emirates.
A move for the Dutch forward may become a reality if Mancini can further trim City’s wage bill by moving more players on.
Reports linking AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint Germain have raised rumours of a possible Milan move for Carlos Tevez, another of City’s strikers, but the Argentinian has been quick to reiterate that he wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
Wayne Bridge has already gone on loan to Brighton and may not return to the Etihad as he is in the last year of his City contract.
