Wayne Rooney’s international ban for the finals of Euro 2012 has been reduced from three to two games following an appeal in at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland today.
The Manchester United striker will still miss England’s opening two group games against France and Sweden but will be available for England’s final group game against co-hosts Ukraine.
Rooney was joined at the appeal by England manager Fabio Capello and the Italian is now expected to select Rooney in his final squad for the tournament which will be held in Poland and Ukraine in 2012.
