Carlos Tevez has failed to report for training a day after reportedly accepting a fine of 2 weeks wages for 5 counts of misconduct during Manchester City’s defeat at Bayern Munich after he refused to warm up.
City were reported to have instructed their lawyers to take action after the Argentinian failed to report for training as instructed this morning.
BBC Sport report that Tevez had spoken to a member of City’s backroom staff and believed he had permission to make the trip but couldn’t get hold of City Manager Roberto Mancini both before and after arriving in Argentina.
Tevez was not selected for the Argentina squad for their forthcoming international games against Bolivia and Colombia and had been expected to continue his personal training programme in Manchester.
Gordon Taylor, Chief Executive of the PFA, expressed his disappointment at Tevez for missing training and returning to his home country.
“He’s in danger of of burning bridges rather than reconciliation.” said Taylor.
